CBD Oil to Limit the Anxiety and Cravings Caused by the Heroin

The list of potential uses of CBD is growing, and the new addition is its ability to reduce the cravings and anxiety in heroin addicts. Researchers at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York found that CBD has the potential to reduce the cue-induced cravings and anxiety in people with heroin abuse.

Studies have found that people who consume CBD have significantly low drugs cravings. Participants in the studies showed less anxiety, which was another added benefit of CBD. CBD is found to have lasting effects on the participants. There was a remarkable reduction in the respiratory rate, blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, and oxygen saturation of the addicts. CBD was found to be helpful in all the three phases of addiction – the intoxication phase, the dependence phase, and the relapse phase.

CBD does not get people high but offers the anti-anxiety effect. As more research will be done, the role of CBD in curbing the addiction will become clearer.
